As a matter of desire takes was realised in Lunz am See in Austria. It takes up the city arms and the local unicorn legends of the touristic destination. A white horse was transformed into a unicorn with a prosthesis and appeared early on the bank of the Lake. As a subtle performance, the project should not be announced in advance, but sprinkle rumors in the city. The artificial-looking and surreal presence of the mythical creature seems to evoke locally desired realities.

As a symbol of human desire the appearance of the unicorn, in the backdrop of the familiar lake, nevertheless leads to irritations in the everyday life of the Lunzers. The intervention operates at the interface of everyday environment and desire realities, authenticity and fantasy. The mystical place of the lake is strengthened by the unicorn. After all the unicorn joins the apparitions of strange beings not far from waters. It becomes the phenomenon, the appearance, the phantom - the Loch Ness monster of Lunz.
